TECSA AT CISAP-12 (TURIN, JUNE 14–17, 2026)

TECSA S.r.l. will be participating in CISAP12 & FEx 2026 (12th Conference on Safety & Environment in the Process & Power Industry and Fire Explosion 2026), the international conference organized by the Italian Association of Chemical Engineers (AIDIC). The event will take place in Turin from June 14 to 17, 2026.

The event offers a high-level program, providing an important opportunity for the exchange of ideas among professionals from industry and academia. The conference aims to share the latest innovations in safety and the environment for the process and power generation industries, with a particular focus on technical advances in the field of fire and explosions.

TECSA S.r.l. will participate with the following presentation:

Consequence Assessment of Detonations in Explosive Material Handling Facilities: an Integrated Approach,” Cristian Giovanniello, Luca Fiorentini, Andrea Respighi (TECSA S.r.l.), Valentina Busini (Politecnico di Milano)

The presentation, which covers a study on risks associated with the explosives industry, will be delivered by Eng. Cristian Giovanniello.

In particular, this study presents an integrated, performance-based approach for assessing the effects of a detonation within explosive material storage facilities. Overcoming the limitations of traditional empirical models and Q-D curves, the proposed methodology combines advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations—performed using the Viper::Blast code for shock wave propagation—with Monte Carlo probabilistic analyses for mapping the projection of structural fragments. The presentation will also demonstrate how terrain morphology and obstacle geometry play a fundamental role, and how the integration of these tools allows for the precise assessment of the territorial compatibility of industrial facilities with respect to current regulatory requirements (Ministerial Decree of May 9, 2001).
