For a highly complex underground station, TECSA conducted an integrated fire safety analysis, focusing on the ventilation system.
The objective was twofold: to correctly size the fans and define the operating logic in both normal and emergency conditions.
To validate the effectiveness of the system, an advanced simulation was developed which, starting from the output data of IDA Tunnel, made it possible to model a fire scenario with FDS with specific boundary conditions and then analyse the resulting evacuation flows of people present in the station. Prior to this work, a fire risk assessment was also carried out using the Bow-Tie method, the results of which will be incorporated into the Fire Safety Management System. The latter, in accordance with ANSFISA directives, will then be integrated into a broader management system.
