Flammable gas dispersion modelling from PSV valves

The aim of the study is to perform simulations, using suitable calculation models, of dispersion of releases of a gas, arising from n° 3 PSV valves protecting equipments of a system and to evaluate the distance of interest at a time of 120, 300 and 600 s after the beginning of the release. The threshold values assumed in the simulations are the ones indicated in the Purple Book “Guidelines for quantitative risk assessment” – T.N.O. (Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research). Gas dispersion was investigated using PHAST 8.23 (DNV) software.
