Functional Safety course in Rome, by exida and National Fire Brigade. 21-25 October

Registration is now open for the “FSE 100 – IEC 61511: Functional Safety Analysis, Design, and Operation” course, which will be held from October 21st to 25th 2019 at the Ministry of the Interior, Central Fire Fighting Schools, Rome Capannelle.

This is the official course by exida, of which TECSA is the partner for Italy, in the field of functional safety for plants under the Seveso Directive, in collaboration with the National Fire Brigade and TECSA Srl.

This course, entirely in English, provides an overview of process industry safety engineering from the point of view of the Risk Analyst, Process Safety Coordinator, and Control Systems Design Engineer.

It delivers a complete overview of the functional safety lifecycle. The course reviews Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Consequence Analysis, Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Target Selection, Safety Requirements Specification (SRS) generation, failure rates, device and system reliability, SIF verification, SIF detailed design and Operations requirements.

This course forms a broad review in preparation for the Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE) and Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP) process industry application engineering exams.

The course lasts 4 days, from 21 to 24 October. On October 25th, the student can alternatively sit for the exam to obtain the CFSP / CFSE certification or take part in a further class on Integrated Environmental Authorization, alarm systems and the human factor, fire and gas detection systems with advanced techniques of 2D / 3D mapping.
