Fire & Explosion Risk Assessment (FERA) for a new electricity production plant

2022 / Risk mangagement / Oil&Gas

The aim of Fire & Explosion Risk Assessment (FERA) has been estimating fire and blast effects on equipment, building and structures of the Project, in order to provide preliminary indications on the Passive and Active Fire Protection System to be installed.

The evaluation of risk has been carried out considering, for each thermal and overpressure selected threshold, the total cumulated frequency of fires and explosions at identified targets.

Consequence modelling has been performed using RISKCURVES 11.4 computer code by GEXCOM and using references such as API581 and TNO Purple Book
