The objectives of the Audit activity are:
- verify the level of implementation and effectiveness of the safety management system with particular attention to the process safety aspects;
- identify good / best process safety management practices in place at the individual plants in order to facilitate their sharing and distribution;
- highlight areas of possible improvement in the process safety performance;
- plan short, medium and long-term actions to ensure the improvement of process safety performance.
The elements subject to analysis can be grouped into four categories making up the four pillars of process safety.
